Work-Ins at True Animal Vet

You need to get your pet seen today. Call or text us, and we will work you in. That is the fastest path at both True Animal Vet hospitals: The Woodlands and Grand Oaks in Spring.

A work-in means we look at the board, find a time that fits, and have your name ready when you arrive. You spend less time waiting. We can prep for what is going on. You are not guessing whether anyone can see you. If you searched for a walk-in vet, this is the same idea, with a call first so we can hold a spot.

How to get worked in

Call The Woodlands at (281) 867-5968, call Grand Oaks at (281) 869-3010, or text (281) 916-3282. Tell us what you are seeing at home, which hospital you can reach, and how soon your pet needs a doctor. If we have a same-day opening, we will give you a window and expect you then.

It helps if you can share a short history on that call: when it started, whether they are eating and drinking, any toxin or trauma you know about, and current medications. We do not need a perfect story. A few facts let us plan the visit before you park.

If one hospital is full, we may send you to the other. Hours are the same at both: Monday through Friday 7:30am to 9pm, Saturday 8am to 12pm, Sunday closed. Saturday mornings go quickly, so call early if you wake up to a sick pet. We are not 24/7. If we are closed and your pet cannot wait, go to the nearest emergency hospital, then call us when we reopen so we can pick up the follow-up.

If you cannot get through and your pet needs to be seen now, come in during open hours. We will take care of you. Calling first is still the smoother path. It lets us hold a spot instead of adding you to a line that is already moving.

What a work-in is for

Work-ins are for pets who should not wait for a routine appointment: not eating, vomiting, a wound, sudden lameness, pain, or just not themselves. If you are worried enough to call, that
is a good reason to call. You do not have to decide whether the problem is "urgent enough." Tell us what you see. We will help you sort it.

If your pet is collapsing, having trouble breathing, or cannot wait at all, that is not a work-in question. If we are open, call us and come in. If we are closed, go to an ER.

Vaccines and wellness visits are different. Those get a scheduled appointment so the medical day stays open for pets who are sick. If you want a checkup and nothing is open today, we will book the next real slot. That is how we keep same-day room for the ones who cannot wait.

When you arrive, check in at reception. If your pet gets uneasy in a waiting room, ask the team about waiting outside. Stay with them unless you are an existing client set up for a drop-off.

Drop-offs if you already see us

Existing clients can drop off at no extra charge. Book online, write "drop-off" and the reason in the description, then call reception when you pull up. We come out, you sign paperwork, and you leave a deposit. We call you after the exam and again when your pet is ready. Leave a number you will actually answer.

This is for families we already know, so we can reach you and you already know how we work. It is there so a busy day does not keep your pet from getting seen.

If you are new

You do not have to be an existing client to get same-day urgent care. Call or text, and we will work you in when we can. Plan to stay for that first visit so we can meet you, meet your pet, and go over the plan together. After that, drop-off is available the next time you need it.

The first consult is not extra hoop-jumping. It is how we get the history right and how you hear the recommendations in person. After that, you already have a team.
